Cross project fork enables creation of service from one project to another. It could be useful when you want to create fork from your service that runs in production in another project where you can safely experiment with your service.
Aiven's command line tool supports creating database forks across projects. This article describes how to create cross project forks trough Aiven's web console.
Assuming that you have created separate project and you have database service created, users with role
operator are able to create cross project forks.
1. Click on service that you want to fork
2. At service overview page scroll down to
3. Configure your new database instance
Project name field shows list of projects available to create fork to.
After you have configured your new database instance click on
Create Fork button. It would create new service in specified project and redirect to this service.
