If your Kafka service is running inside a VPC, perhaps you would need public access for some external systems or a subset of consumers. If that is the case, you can enable it by going to the Advanced Configuration section at the bottom of your Service Overview. You can select
public_access.kafka (or Kafka Rest or Kafka Connect) and enable it. Saving the configuration should give you the view below.
Now, your Service Overview page should have an
Access Route option that lets you choose between
Dynamic, choosing public will show you your pubicly accessible URL.
You can toggle these settings without downtime.
